Nothing, in the case of my friend. I don't have pictures because it was her accident and she took some herself, and I didn't want to be that guy. She bumped into it in a parking lot and knocked her bumper cover, headlight, fender, and hood all very slightly out of alignment. You wouldn't notice unless you compared the panel gaps to the ones on the other side, and the paint held up strangely well, too. The Jeep, however, has blue scuffs all over one side of its rear bumper. Most of the impact was on the tire, so I felt like a terrible person informing her that that was a bad thing after she was so relieved to see that there was minimal visible damage. But apparently she lucked out, because when she got a call from the owner, she was told not to worry about it. Just like that. The Jeep needs new paint and maybe more, but the owner doesn't mind at all. Didn't even want to report it or anything. I've seen it driving around since then, still with its scuff marks but no signs of mechanical trouble, luckily, but still. Wow. I'd certainly have sympathy, and maybe pay for SOME of the repairs myself, but I would never let someone hit my car and go on their way. It's cool to know there are people like that out there, but wow.

maybe the Jeep owners insurance will cover it without any extra expense? if that was the case I wouldn't ask for money from your friend either, simply because she was mature enough to hang around and give details.
Fuck anyone who drives away without leaving details though.
I'll channel Liam Neeson levels of revenge.
